Street workers in India

India is old, very old. Many things are still happening as they way they always have. People are working hard all day and still, money is scarce. There are no regulations, taxes or receipts, no hygiene and sanitation practices for preparing food. Over time things have somehow changed in the western world, and therefore many professions are now gone – but they still go strong in the old city of Jaisalmer, where people keep the old ways.

Ice seller. A huge block of ice, covered by cloth to prevent it from melting fast, is first cut into smaller blocks. They will be loaded to the cart and then delivered to various stalls, for example fish sellers or ice cream makers.
